I started reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books when I was in elementary school and ever since then I have been hooked. This book was incredibly inspiring and has given me great insight. I would definitely read this again.

“Daring to Hope” by Katie Majors such an inspirational story that many should read. From “Kisses to Katie” to “Daring to Hope”, her testimony is one to read. Her love for Jesus is just incredibly astounding and it challenges my faith as well. This was a great read and I will definitely recommend it.
Once again I’ll say that I’ll read pretty much anything Liz writes. I love how incitful and honest she is in her writing. It’s hard not to glean something from her books. I can’t wait for another book by her!

This book is broken down into 36 weeks of weekly devotionals that generally centers around Tim Tebow’s childhood and professional career in the sports industry. Each week is scripture based and after each week there are a couple of questions for reflection. This book is geared more towards school aged children and is a well written book that reiterates who you are in Christ.

The Story Cure has many great tidbits on how to write a story when you feel like you’re not getting anywhere when writing a book. The next time I am writing a story, I will definitely pick this book up again to see if I could use it to help my writer’s block.

Of Cats and Men by Sam Kalda is not a book that I would normally read, however, it had a whimsical charm to it that made it endearing. The illustrations that accompany the book are stunning and fits the characteristics of the book. Sam Kalda unites dozens of men throughout history through the love of cats. It was interesting to know how many famous people had a love for cats and how they inspired them in their work.

The New York Times Footsteps is a compilation of many articles about the places where authors found their inspiration to write their novels. Even though I have not read each book that is covered in Footsteps, I do have an even greater appreciation for all of the dedication that is put in to writing. Each article transported me to another period of time and different part of the world. I want to read and re-read each book that is talked about due to the knowledge of knowing how the authors came to write their works.

There is not much more I could say that hasn’t already been said about this book. Bryan Stevenson’s true story is genuinely compelling and inspiring. His memoir focuses on how his experiences as a lawyer and his fight for justice. It’s an incredible and powerful read that is filled with raw and real stories that are eye-opening.

Whether the wisdom and truth in this book is new information or a great reminder to the reader, this is something that women can’t get enough of. The book is encouraging and really digs deep to define the differences between the world’s definition of pretty and God’s definition of beauty. The book is written by a mother and daughter and they give great insight to how women need to not be seeking the world’s cultural beauty, but instead God’s beauty and their identity in Christ. Liz Curtis Higgs is an amazing author who breaks down the Bible by giving insight and historical background. She gives a different perspective on the Bible and her writing style is in depth, unique, and personal. I have read many books by her and I will definitely be reading other books by her in future!
